Why consider resin bound?

A refined finish with flexible design choices

Resin bound surfacing combines selected aggregate with clear resin before it is laid and hand finished. The result is a continuous surface that can complement both modern and traditional homes.

Smooth appearance

The close-textured finish creates a neat, consistent surface without the regular joints found in block paving.

Choice of blends

Aggregate colours can be selected to work with brickwork, render, paths, borders and the wider setting of your home.

Useful for shaped areas

The hand-laid finish can follow curves and detailed edges, giving flexibility around paths, planting and entrances.

Preparation matters

The complete build-up needs to work together

We fully excavate existing driveways and install suitable new foundations before the resin-bound finish. We do not offer driveway overlays. Your survey covers the complete construction, levels, drainage and edging so the written quotation explains the work required.

  • Full excavation and suitable new foundations
  • Falls, levels and adjoining thresholds
  • Edging and movement control
  • Drainage and intended water flow

Resin driveway questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between resin bound and resin bonded?

For resin bound surfacing, aggregate and resin are mixed before being laid, creating a smooth finish. Resin bonded systems scatter aggregate onto resin and have a different texture and construction.

Can resin be laid over my existing driveway?

No. We do not overlay existing driveways. Our resin-bound driveways include full excavation and suitable new foundations, with levels, drainage and edging designed as one complete system. Patio overlays are assessed separately, case by case.

Can I choose the resin colour?

You can compare aggregate blends and consider how their tones work with your home, borders and neighbouring surfaces.

Will weeds grow through resin?

Good preparation helps limit growth from below, although wind-blown seeds can still settle on any outdoor surface. Sensible cleaning and maintenance remain important.

How should a resin driveway be maintained?

Routine sweeping and appropriate cleaning help remove leaves, dirt and surface deposits. Any specific care advice should reflect the installed system.

How long will installation take?

Timing depends on area, access, base preparation, drainage and weather. A more useful estimate can be given after the site survey.
