Design before decisions become expensive

Move beyond imagination. See how the space could come together.

CAD makes a proposal more tangible, helping you understand relationships between walls, furniture, cabinetry, circulation, materials and light before work begins.

01

Understand the space

See proposed proportions, routes through the room and the relationship between important elements.

02

Compare before committing

Review suitable layout or finish directions before key materials and products are ordered.

03

Align the project team

Give the customer, designer and delivery team a shared visual reference for the agreed concept.

04

Find questions earlier

Bring layout conflicts, missing decisions and specialist information into the conversation while the design can still change.

What can we visualise?

A clearer view of the spaces you are planning to change.

The drawing package is tailored to the decisions your project needs to support—not a standard collection of documents.

Kitchen

Kitchen design

Explore cabinetry, worktops, islands, appliances, storage, seating, circulation and connections to adjoining rooms.

Extension

Property extensions

Visualise the proposed footprint, room arrangement, openings and connection between the existing home and new space at concept stage.

Interior

Whole-home renovations

Coordinate room relationships, feature details and a consistent finish direction across a broader refurbishment.

Outdoor

Driveways & outdoor spaces

Test broad layouts for driveways, paths, patios, borders, steps and landscaping so external elements feel connected.

The right level of detail

From an early layout to a coordinated design reference.

Not every project needs the same outputs. We define the useful purpose, files, detail and revision allowance before design work begins.

Concept layout

A considered arrangement used to test room relationships, circulation and the broad position of key elements.

3D visual direction

A three-dimensional view that helps communicate volume, proportions, selected products and the overall character.

Outputs are agreed, not assumed. The exact files, intended purpose, level of detail and number of revisions will be stated in your quotation.

One idea, seen several ways

Move from plan to visual direction.

Each view answers a different question: how the layout works, how the volume feels and how important details relate to one another.

Our CAD design process

A collaborative route from brief to approved direction.

Timescales depend on project complexity, information available, decisions and the number of revisions agreed.

01

Discover

We discuss the property, what is not working now, your priorities, preferred style and investment range.

02

Survey & information

Relevant measurements, photographs and existing information are gathered. Complex work may require a separate professional survey.

03

Concept

An initial layout or visual direction is developed around the agreed brief and known constraints.

04

Review

We talk through the proposal, capture agreed feedback and identify choices or specialist input still needed.

05

Refine

The selected direction is updated within the agreed design scope, with product and finish details added where included.

06

Confirm & connect

The approved direction becomes a clearer reference for quotation, specialist design, selection or construction planning.

Design that connects to delivery

A beautiful visual is useful. A visual connected to the build is better.

Because The Resin & Renovation Company can support design, project coordination and construction, the CAD conversation does not end with an image.

We consider how the direction may influence scope, materials, interfaces and sequencing, then explain what must happen before work can begin.

  • One connected conversation
  • Selections seen in context
  • A clearer basis for quotation
  • Practical next steps
  • Specialist needs identified
  • Approved direction carried forward

Important design clarity

The right drawing for the right purpose.

CAD is a method of producing drawings and visual information; it does not automatically make every drawing suitable for planning, Building Regulations, structural design, manufacture or construction.

Concept layouts and 3D visuals communicate design ideas unless your quotation states otherwise. Where formal architectural, measured-survey, structural-engineering, Building Regulations or construction drawings are required, they must be prepared or checked by an appropriately competent professional for their intended use. We make the purpose and limits of the agreed design package clear.

Helpful answers

Understanding CAD and visualisation.

We define the purpose and limits of the drawing package before any design fee is agreed.

What is the difference between a 2D CAD plan and a 3D visual?
A 2D plan shows the layout from above and is useful for understanding dimensions and relationships. A 3D visual helps communicate volume, proportion and appearance. The suitable package depends on the decisions your project needs to support.
Are CAD visuals the same as architectural or structural drawings?
No. Concept CAD and 3D visualisation communicate a design direction. Architectural, planning, Building Regulations, structural or construction drawings have specific purposes and may require an appropriately qualified or competent professional.
Can the drawings be submitted for planning permission or Building Regulations?
Only when drawings have been specifically prepared for that purpose and meet the relevant requirements. A concept visual should not be used for formal submission unless an appropriate professional has confirmed it is suitable.
What information do you need to begin?
Useful starting information includes photographs, existing plans if available, inspiration images, priorities, preferred finishes and the investment range you are considering. We explain what measurements or survey information are required.
Can I request changes to the design?
Yes. The review and revision allowance will be agreed before design begins. Additional changes outside that allowance may affect the fee and timescale, and we discuss this first.
Will the finished materials look exactly like the screen image?
Digital visuals are a guide. Colour, texture, light and scale can appear different between screens and real materials, so physical samples and confirmed product specifications should be used for final selections.
How long does a CAD design take?
Timescales vary with the size and complexity of the space, survey information, level of detail and feedback required. We provide an estimated design programme once the scope is understood.
How much does CAD design cost?
The fee depends on the project, deliverables and level of detail. The initial home survey is free; any CAD or design fee is stated separately in writing before design work starts.
Can you also carry out the renovation work?
Yes, subject to survey, scope, availability and an agreed quotation. Our design-to-delivery approach can connect the approved direction with material choices, trade coordination and the proposed programme.
